That said, a bit of news has recently come across our proverbial desk that we simply couldn't help sharing: the 2018 Hyundai Sonata won an IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award.

Now as we said, we don't like to boast here at Rick Case Hyundai Duluth, but the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award is a pretty big deal, only given to the models the in both crash worthiness and crash prevention. Fortunately, the 2018 Hyundai Sonata excels in both of those regards. In fact, perhaps its most attractive feature is its Blind Spot Detection System. With radar sensors discreetly concealed within its rear bumper, the 2018 Hyundai Sonata can detect vehicles in its blind spot, alerting the driver if it detects an obstacle that might impede safe merging and lane changes.

Of course, a Blind Spot Detection system is far from all that the 2018 Hyundai Sonata has that made it a winner of the IIHS Top Safety Pick+ award.
