2025 Hyundai Tucson Quick Guide | Latest Features, Trims, Colors

The 2025 Tucson at a Glance

Tucson Overview It has been 20 years since Hyundai introduced an all-new SUV called the Tucson. It had a slow beginning, but the Tucson has become one of the best-selling SUVs in the United States. The five-passenger crossover is also Hyundai's top seller, with record yearly sales since the fourth generation was introduced in 2020. The Korean brand expects this success to continue for the significantly updated 2025 Tucson.

While the dimensions remain unchanged, the 2025 Hyundai Tucson features fresh exterior styling and a revised, high-tech interior with a large curved screen encompassing the driver's display and infotainment system. The new display, combined with a complete revamp of the dashboard, center console, and steering wheel, gives the cabin a premium vibe. There are also several new features, including adjustable regenerative braking on the HEV/PHEV versions, as well as Baby Mode, which optimizes the throttle and braking when you're driving with an infant on board.

The Tucson, which sits between the Kona and Santa Fe in the Hyundai lineup, is one of the few models sold in the U.S. that offers a choice of internal combustion engine (ICE), hybrid (HEV), or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain. This flexibility, combined with its spacious interior, expansive cargo bay, and excellent driving characteristics, has helped Tucson maintain its top-selling position.

What Trim Levels are Available for the 2025 Tucson?

The 2025 Hyundai Tucson is available in seven trim levels: SE, SEL, Blue, SEL Convenience, XRT, N Line, and Limited. All but the Blue and N Line come with the 2.5-liter engine, while the SE and XRT are not offered with the hybrid powertrain. The plug-in hybrid is offered in SEL and Limited trims. Non-hybrid variants come with front-wheel drive and optional all-wheel drive; hybrids and plug-in hybrids get all-wheel drive standard. The SEL is the popular trim, but we would opt for the SEL Convenience with the hybrid powertrain.

What is the Interior Like in the 2025 Tucson?

To answer your question in simple terms: stunning!
An abundance of interior space makes the Tucson's cabin a very pleasant place to be. The front seats offer plenty of room, and rear passengers will be able to stretch their legs or recline their seat. For drivers, it's easy to get in and out and find a comfortable and commanding position. A large windscreen and thin roof pillars allow for great visibility.

Unlike many car companies that are eliminating physical controls, Hyundai has brought back actual knobs for volume and tuning, as well as buttons for quick access to the more used features in the infotainment system. Climate control functions are kept separate for easy access, with dials for temperature adjustment.

Cargo space is important to SUV owners, and the Tucson is a leader in the segment. It provides 38.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats, expanding to 80.3 cubic feet with those seats folded down.

Additional Interior Options
  • 8-Way Power Driver Seat
  • Power Driver Seat Lumbar Support
  • Bucket First Row Seating
  • Bench Second Row Seating
  • Power Windows
  • Power Locks
  • Remote Keyless Entry
  • Remote Engine Start
  • Keyless Ignition

2025 Tucson Infotainment, Connectivity, & Convenience Features
Hyundai's infotainment systems have always been among the more intuitive available, and the Tucson's is no exception. The system is updated for the 2025 model year and uses a 12.3-inch touchscreen that is standard for all trim levels. That's much larger than the Honda CR-V's standard 7-inch (9-inch on highest trim levels) touchscreen. With sharper graphics that make it easier to read, the new Hyundai system features faster processing speeds for quicker response, and we found the updated layout much easier to navigate.

Wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay is standard. We connected to Android Auto via Bluetooth quickly with no issues, and you can configure it to take up the entire display screen or split the space with the native system. Our test vehicle also featured the upgraded Bose audio system, which sounded great when playing tunes via Spotify.

How does the 2025 Tucson Handle on the Road?
It is unusual for a single model to be offered with three styles of powertrain, but such is the case with the 2025 Hyundai Tucson. The standard powertrain is a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine teamed with an eight-speed automatic transmission delivering 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet of torque.

The Tucson Hybrid features a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with a 64-hp electric motor for a total output of 231 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. The plug-in hybrid (PHEV) Tucson uses the same 1.6-liter engine but gets a more powerful 97-hp electric motor, combining to produce 268 hp and 271 lb-ft of torque. Both hybrid powertrains use a six-speed automatic transmission. Tucson SUVs equipped with the hybrid or PHEV powertrain come standard with all-wheel drive, which is optional on standard-engine variants.

We tested the updated Tucson Hybrid and it delivered a comfortable, quiet ride with reasonably good handling. The combination of good performance and impressive fuel efficiency makes the Tucson hybrid a great option in the compact crossover market.
